Virtus.pro won the first edition of the CS:GO Legends Series following a 3-2 victory over Ninjas in Pyjamas (16-9 on de_nuke, 16-1 on de_mirage, 11-16 on de_overpass, 16-19 on de_inferno and 16-13 on de_dust2). For the first edition of this new weekly tournament, which is almost identical to the Caseking of the Hill cups, except that it features just two teams, E-Frag picked the winners of the last two CS:GO majors, EMS One Katowice champions, Virtus.pro, and ESL One Cologne champions, Ninjas in Pyjamas. In a clash between perhaps the two strongest teams in the world, many expected it to be a very close affair, but the first two maps were pretty much one-sided as Virtus.pro picked up 16-9 and 16-1 victories on de_nuke and de_mirage, respectively.
NiP then showed their tremendous fighting spirit and equalised the series on two maps after a 16-11 victory on de_overpass and a 19-16 success on de_inferno. The final map, de_dust2, also went down to the wire, but in the end Virtus.pro ran out 16-13 winners to walk away with the $1,000 prize and the title of CS:GO Legends champions.
